In the process of IVF performed by maternity home in Bilaspur, a particular cycle may take up to at least 2 weeks. During the procedure of IVF, the mature eggs are retrieved from the ovary and the sperm is taken from the male. These both are fertilized in the lab and then these are implanted in the uterus of the women.

In this procedure, a single egg wouldn't be enough therefore multiple eggs retrieved from the uterus by a needle and are guided by an ultrasound. This whole procedure is performed under the local anesthesia.

The embryos are not directly inserted into the uterus. This is because these are kept in an incubator so as to check the growth. When the embryos are at a good developed state, these are placed in the uterus with the help of thin plastic catheter. If the sperm is of poor quality, then it can occlude the whole fertilization process.
